Port of Rosslare

Land Transport and Travel To and From Port Rosslare
(Rosslare, County Wexford, Northern Ireland, UK)

Rosslare is excellently connected by road, bus and rail to other parts of Ireland.

Ireland's network of roads consists mainly of provincial roads, with only a small number of multi-lane motorways.

Travel by Bus and Shuttles

Bus Éireann follows routes to long distance destinations. Dublin can be reached by their service via Wexford. The company also meet passenger ferries at the port. To access Rosslare harbour from other parts of Ireland, it might be convenient to use the Bus Eireann Expressway, from which there are direct and indirect connections throughout the country.

Car Hire and Road Travel

If you are travelling by car from Dublin to Rosslare, drive along the N11 to the south, leaving Dublin through Donnybrook and out past Stillorgan. Trains and Rail Travel

A railway station is positioned next to the ferry port, with direct Intercity train services operating to Cork, Dublin, Limerick and Waterford. Services to Dublin operate three or four times daily, with the first train leaving the station at 07:20, linking with the arriving passenger and car ferries from Britain. From Dublin, trains also depart and follow routes along the east coast to the ferry port several times a day. Waterford is also linked by train to the ferry port, with services departing one or two times every day, depending on the season.

Car Parking

The port features a convenient car parking facility, providing both short-term and long-term car parking. The facility offers reasonable day charges and a maximum car parking duration of one month.

Travel by Taxis

Most of the time, taxis are waiting for arriving passengers at the port. Taxi services are the most convenient and fastest way to reach your local destination. However, if you have to travel longer distances, it is advisable to use the railway or bus services, as they are efficient and less expensive. Taxi companies in the region include Dermot O'Hagan (tel: +353 53 33777) and Jimmy Ferguson (tel: +353 53 33355).
