Irish Ferries, Stena Line and Celtic Link Ferries LTD are the three principal ferry companies offering passenger and vehicle services from the Port of Roscoff, while UECC only operates one weekly freight service.

Irish Ferries


Irish Ferries is the leading ferry company in Ireland.


The company operates a modern fleet of four vessels. Onboard facilities are excellent, with designated amenities for physically disabled passengers available as well. Irish Ferries is well established and for over 30 years, their crafts have transported millions of passengers, tourist cars and freight units.

Irish Ferries has two weekly sailings to Pembroke. Their passenger, vehicle and freight vessel, the Isle of Inishmore, operates the route. This large ship was launched in October 1996 and can carry 2,200 passengers and 855 cars. It has a crew of 118 staff. The duration of the journey is about 3 hours, 45 minutes, with a cruising speed of 21.5 knots. Onboard amenities include a children's play area, cyber zone, luggage room, fully-equipped first aid centre, duty-free shops and a conference room.

The Normandy operates the Rosslare-Cherbourg-Roscoff route. The ship was built according to the highest safety standards, as set down by the International Maritime Organisation. The conventional ferry can accommodate 2,060 people and has space for 450 cars. Crossing time is approximately 17 hours. Facilities feature a lounge bar, restaurant, games zone, children's corner, sun deck and shops.

Stena Line


Stena Line is one of the globe's leading ferry operators. The company provides an extensive network of UK and Irish routes. The Stena Express fast craft and Stena Europe super ferry both travel between Rosslare and Fishguard. Outstanding facilities are available on both crafts including shops, restaurants and children's play areas.

The Stena Europe operates the route twice daily. The ship can carry 1,350 passengers and 400 cars. Sailing time is about 3 hours, 30 minutes. The Stena Express fast craft operates the route between Rosslare and Fishguard from April to September up to four times per day. The fast service can accommodate 650 people and has room for 148 cars. The duration of the voyage is about 3 hours.

Celtic Link Ferries LTD


Celtic Link Ferries provides freight and passenger ferry routes between Rosslare and Cherbourg in France. The Diplomat is the vessel which operates the route. Physically disabled passengers should be aware that the Diplomat is primarily a cargo ship and therefore may not be suitable for travellers with special needs. However, there is an elevator from the car deck to the cabins.

Onboard facilities include a fully licensed bar, wide screen TVs showing the latest movies, shops and a sky lounge providing panoramic sea views. The company offers three weekly voyages to Cherbourg, with a crossing time of about 18 hours, 30 minutes. The ship can carry 120 passengers and has a car capacity of 65.
